Woodwyn Farm Director to Unveil Next Steps
Victoria, June 15, 2009.
Richard LeBlanc will unveil the next steps for the Woodwyn Farm project at the Queenswood Passionate Lives evening series on June 25.
His presentation will share his personal story, report on the progress of the Homefulness Society, and invite community participation in the next steps for the Society’s therapeutic community project, Woodwyn Farm.
Woodwyn Farm is a project that aims to provide homeless people with a new start in life by providing training and counseling within a supportive experience of community. It is based on therapeutic models proven successful in Italy. The Woodwyn Farm project made a significant step forward earlier this year when it purchased a large property in North Saanich for the farming education component of the program.
Passionate Lives is a monthly dinner series at Queenswood featuring guest speakers who share inspiring stories and dialogue with people in Victoria seeking to be part of positive social change.
Queenswood is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to spiritual revitalization with a special commitment to supporting caregivers, educators, nonprofits, and service organizations. Queenswood will donate the net proceeds from this Passionate Lives presentation to Woodwyn Farm.
The dinner is at 6 p.m., and the presentation is at 7 p.m. Dinner reservations required.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 250.477.3822 or at www.QueenswoodVictoria.ca/evening_series.
